Guaranteed Tuition Plan Announcement:
The Board of Regents voted on April 14 to end the existing guaranteed tuition plan, also known as the fixed-for-four plan. This does not affect tuition for students currently enrolled under the guaranteed tuition plan. In an effort to reduce the impact on students already enrolling for fall 2009, the Board of Regents also elected not to increase the tuition for incoming freshmen.
All students - current and incoming freshmen - will pay a special institutional fee to help offset budget reductions. For students at North Georgia College & State University, this fee will be $75 per semester.
By ending the tuition guarantee, the University System of Georgia and its institutions will now have greater flexibility in addressing future budget requirements in this challenging economy. The Board of Regents will determine future tuition increases and fees on an annual basis as needed.
